A
common thread for a better overview
CEMATEX - the European Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association
- is making ITMA 2007 more attractive than ever for exhibitors and visitors
by adding new products and by extending or reorganising existing exhibition
categories. In addition, a newly hierarchical numbering system will make
the ITMA product index more transparent.
CEMATEX has set the course for ensuring that the range of products and
services exhibited at ITMA is more oriented to the needs of the textile
and clothing industry. The product index has been expanded to include
new products such as RFID systems, and the sector for transport and storage
technology will be presented in greater detail. There will also be a new
sector for "software systems for knowledge management, production management
and supply-chain management". The ITMA exhibitors in these sectors offer
their customers the latest developments for ensuring the global flow of
goods and merchandise in networks together with their partners in the
textile chain in the requisite quality and on time.
ITMA presents the entire range of machinery for the textile and clothing
industry, especially machines for the production of nonwovens and technical
textiles. The nonwovens sector occupied a separate hall for the first
time ever at ITMA 2003. In Munich, this sector will have a perfect location
between the spinning preparation and finishing halls. This will allow
exhibitors at ITMA 2007 to give visitors from the nonwovens industry a
look at preliminary and subsequent production steps in a concentrated
manner.
New entries for nonwovens machines such as machines for aerodynamic web
formation have been added to the index, which also includes entries for
other special weaving and warp knitting machines used to produce technical
textiles. Companies that want to produce smart textiles will find the
above-mentioned transponder technology interesting from the point of view
of integrating them into textiles.
In all sectors, textile machines that used to be included under 'Other...'
are now listed separately. Examples include circular knitting machines
for seamless items and foreign fibre/part separators for spinning preparation.
This should also help visitors and exhibitors to locate one another more
quickly.
Discussions with textile companies have revealed that expectations regarding
the range of accessories and spare parts are as high as ever. With this
in mind, this sector has been restructured to provide greater depth. For
example, online measuring and testing systems for the various sectors
are now listed separately.
The sector for equipment for recycling, waste reduction and pollution
prevention is more clearly structured and now complements the range of
environmentally compatible and energy-efficient textile machines.
Safety products are also a new index category. They include equipment
for workers such as protective clothing or hearing protection as well
as safety-related machine components. Manufacturers of these products
for the textile industry qualify for admission to ITMA 2007, as do companies
that produced drives and control units or dyestuffs and chemicals for
the industry.
The sector for machines and accessories for the clothing industry has
also been restructured and updated to reflect the state of the art. As
was the case at ITMA 2003, training and research organisations that deal
with textiles, technical textiles and clothing are eligible to participate
as exhibitors.
The new hierarchical numbering system that was introduced is supposed
to enhance the clarity and transparency of the product index.
About ITMA
In the halls of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, the latest products
of the international textile machinery industry will be presented on 13
- 20 September 2007. The European umbrella organisation CEMATEX, which
comprises nine European member associations, is the owner of ITMA and
has selected the Textile Machinery Association of the VDMA to engage Messe
München to hold the event in 2007. This leading international trade fair
of the textile machinery industry takes place at intervals of four years
at different exhibition locations and attracts around 100,000 visitors
and 1,300 exhibitors from all over the world. ITMA 2007 will occupy the
entire exhibition area of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
